Stats

Dawson went for a check up this past week.  He was having so much fun playing in the room and talking up a storm that the nurse fell in love with him.  The doctor says DJ is looking good and is doing well.  It is fun to hear about what he is going to be learning in the next couple of months, and it is funny because he already does some of it.
Stats
Weight: 21.6 pounds (1%)
Height: 31 3/4 inches (20%)
Head Circumference: 47.2 cm
According to the stats DJ is a skinny boy, but his eating habits wouldn't let you think that!

After the doctor checked him out the same nurse came back in to give him 2 shots.  After she walked back into the room so said that she should have sent someone else in because he was too cute to give shots to.  We held him down and he did really well, yea he cried like most kids but after a couple of minutes you would have never known he had shots.

He is such a fun and lovable little boy!  We are so lucky to have him in our lives forever!
We love you Dawson Jay!

Growing Up

Daddy and the little guy

Dawson went to his 1 year check up awhile ago.
Here are his measurements:
weight - 19.1 pounds (below 5th percentile)
height - 28 1/2 inches (10th percentile)
head circumference - 45 cm

He continues to amaze me each day. He has almost 6 teeth, he is walking like a pro, he eats solid foods, and he babbles like crazy. What an amazing little man we have!
I sure do love him!

Growing (just a little)

DJ went for his 9 month check up earlier this week. His new measurements are: weight - 16.14, height - 27.5, and head circumference 44.5 cm. So he is in the 5th percentile for weight and the 10th for height. Dawson is also pulling himself up to a standing position and cruising. It is so fun watching him learn new things everyday! A tooth finally broke yesterday, which gives me mixed emotions; he is going to be so cute with teeth, but he is growing up so fast. One of his favorite things is to click his tongue. I am so grateful for our little boy everyday and can't say thank you enough!!!

Just being happy and handsome!

I'm growing

Jason says this is his dorky hairdo, but I think it is cute! After rescheduling two times, we finally made it in for DJ's doctor visit. He says he looks healthy and is developing well. His new measurements are: weight 15.13 pounds, 27 1/4 inches long and 43.5 head circumference. That means he is in the 9th percentile for weight, almost the 50th percentile for length, 50th percentile for head circumference. He is sure a cutie! Here is what his hair usually looks like because it is curly and has a mind of it's own.

Update

I know, it has been too long since we have posted anything! We are doing well, and DJ is growing bigger, stronger, and getting smarter everyday. He can sit up for extended periods with help from his Bumbo, he rolled over from his stomach to his back, and is always just the cutest little man ever. He went in for his 4 month check up the other day. His new measurements are 13.13 pounds and 25.25 inches long. Everyone says he is so big for his age, but we think it is because of his cute chubby checks and all the hair he has. He is so much fun!!! So here are a couple of new pictures of the little guy.

Doctors Visit

Dawson went to the doctors yesterday for his 2 week check-up. He is now 7 pounds 3 ounces and 21 inches long. Which confirms what I have been thinking: he is getting big and it's not just in my head. They did the pku blood samples and none of us liked that at all! They pricked his little heel and he started wailing. We didn't realize that they were going to fill in all of the circles completely with blood. Poor DJ, the nurse kept pulling on his leg to get more blood down and he wasn't happy about it at all. After it was over he stopped crying instantly. We were concerned because he was constipated and was in a lot of pain, so we asked the doctor what we could do to alleviate his pain. He gave us a suggestion and I am proud to say that we have poopy pants again! Jason and I have never been so excited to have a poopy diaper!
