Brie and Spencer with DJ

We went up north today to visit Brie, Spencer and their families. It was really fun to get together and meet more of their family. Spencer's mom is in town so it was really special for us to have her meet DJ. We stayed a couple of hours and had a really good time! We are so thankful for all of them and think the world of Brie and Spencer!

Classic Fun Center

Dawson Jay
We decided that for our family Christmas party that we would do something different. We chose to go to Classic Fun Center. I had never been there but had heard that it was a lot of fun, and it was! The kids went skating, and on the bounce houses. Then almost everyone went and played laser tag together. Kurt, Shai, and Hil stayed back and took care of DJ while the rest of us sweated our butts off running around. Santa happened to come while we were there so we were able to get DJ's very first pictures with Santa. He just stared at him with wide eyes. I think that he liked his white beard.

Doctors Visit

Dawson went to the doctors yesterday for his 2 week check-up. He is now 7 pounds 3 ounces and 21 inches long. Which confirms what I have been thinking: he is getting big and it's not just in my head. They did the pku blood samples and none of us liked that at all! They pricked his little heel and he started wailing. We didn't realize that they were going to fill in all of the circles completely with blood. Poor DJ, the nurse kept pulling on his leg to get more blood down and he wasn't happy about it at all. After it was over he stopped crying instantly. We were concerned because he was constipated and was in a lot of pain, so we asked the doctor what we could do to alleviate his pain. He gave us a suggestion and I am proud to say that we have poopy pants again! Jason and I have never been so excited to have a poopy diaper!

More Pictures

Intermountain Hospitals have new rules about visiting patients because of the flu. They give out wristbands to 2 people and those are the ONLY visitors allowed in. Well, Jason decided to see what he could do since we are in a unique situation and he pulled some strings and got them to let Brie have more visitors than just the 2 that everyone else gets.

We went up again today and got to spend some time with Brie, Spencer, Nancy, Steve, and of course Dawson. They are such amazing people that we really love and cherish!Nancy did the dirty work of changing the stinky diaper, then let me feed him!

He was pulling some funny faces, but as soon as the cameras appeared he refused to make anymore. Spencer and Brie say they have no idea where he would get a "stubborn" side from.

Almost Complete

We finally we able to finish the nursery. Here are some pictures. Don't worry about the purple blinds they will change soon. Over the crib we are going to put Dream Big, and find some other things for the other walls, but not sure what yet. All that is missing is the sweet little Dawson Jay! (The room looked a lot bigger until we started putting things in it!)

Nursery

We have been working on getting the nursery ready for DJ. I looked at many pictures on the internet to find something I really liked. We (yes, Jason had a say) decided on light brown and dark brown striped on the bottom of the wall and then the whole upper part blue. I am not going to lie to you. Right after we bought the paint and started I wasn't so sure I was going to like it, but we are almost finished and I am really loving the way it is turning out!!! We still need to finish the blue and put up a chair rail around the room, but it is coming together. Here are some pictures of the project in action. We will put more on when it is finished.
