Here are some more ultrasound pictures of the little man. It's getting closer!

October 22nd

WOW!

So I was getting home from work today and there was a Kirby salesman on my door step. As I approached him he started giving me his pitch about the presentation and so forth. I informed him that my wife was going to be home soon and that as soon as she arrives we needed to take off for dinner. We then started to talk about other things, turns out I know his wife from when she used to work where I work. Anyways, back to the moral of the story, He then asked me "so when is your wife due?" I then replied, actually we are adopting but the baby is due next month. He was a little taken back by my answer and said, "no, when she is due home." Kind of funny I guess, at least Kim and I thought so. I am just too excited about little DJ to arrive that I felt I needed to tell the vacuum salesman all about it.

So we went to dinner with Spencer and Brie (two amazing people) tonight. We went to Famous Daves and it was simply delicious! We found out that DJ is going to be arriving on the 13th of November. So we came right home and changed the date on the counter. We are so excited, now we have less than a month. They also gave us some ultrasound pictures.

The Name

We have talked about it and we have chosen the name Dawson Jay "DJ". His birthparents choose his middle name, which is DJ's great grandpa's name. We are really happy that he will have that connection.

Today we went out and registered at Babies R Us today. The lady we talked to just looked at us like we were crazy. She asked when he is due and we told her November 19th and she really thought that we lost it. We then explained to her that we are adopting. She said that she was wondering if we were at the right place before we told her that. It was really surreal shopping for our little boy! We did make the first two purchases today: 2 onesies, one says Party! My Crib 3 a.m. and the other says Utes fan since birth. It was a busy day, but we had so much fun and can hardly wait! (Not the best picture, sorry!)

Announcement

Well today the official announcement came that we will be adopting a baby boy. He will be called DJ. D- for something we don't know yet but middle name Jay after his great grandfather. Here is the email that we received as the announcement:

We've spent all day trying to think of ways to "announce" to you that, out of all the couples we've seen, we believe
you to be the best for our child, and came to the conclusion that one sentence would probably do the job just as well as anything.

Congratulations mom and dad :)


Then of course the water works started, the phone calls and so forth.
